What is Sort Lines?

Sort Lines is a text utility that reorders lines of text according to your chosen method. Alphabetical sorting (A to Z or Z to A) is the most common, but natural sorting handles numbered items correctly (so "item2" comes before "item10"), and length-based sorting helps you find the shortest or longest entries quickly.

When to Use This Tool

Use Sort Lines when organising lists, cleaning up data, alphabetising names or keywords, randomising quiz questions, or preparing content for import into spreadsheets and databases. The random shuffle is also useful for creating randomised playlists, drawing names from a hat, or shuffling any list where order should not matter.
